Thoughts About Pastor Louie Giglio and the Obama Inauguration

Well, Obama has asked Pastor Louie Giglio, anti-gay minister, to speak at his upcoming inauguration.  I was on a liberal site where this commenter shrugged his shoulders and said "Meh, what are ya gonna do?"

This is the type of liberal spinelessness that brings up vomit into my mouth. Instead of going on a long diatribe about what's wrong with this particular brand of liberal wussiness, please allow me to show you an image from the X-Men classic God Loves, Man Kills. In it a young white guy goes on about how it's OK to hate a minority --mutants. The author, Chris Claremont, is pointing out the hypocrisy of tolerance for hate in a particularly powerful way here.

I'm not for shrugging my shoulders and tolerating those who advocate discrimination of anyone, at anytime, for any reason.

Discrimination against one minority is an attack against us all.

This is Purgatory.

* PS Don't worry, we'll get back to the funny tommorow.

**An update: It looks like Pastor Giglio has decided not to speak at the inauguration due to the controversy.

  1. This just goes to further show how weak Obama is on LGBT rights.

He didn't make any serious effort to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, until the Supreme Court got involved, and he didn't even support gay marriage (just watered down civil union laws) until this past year.

Never mind the fact that this won't be the first time he's had an anti-gay pastor give an inauguration speech, Rick Warren gave the speech the last time he was elected.
