Richard Carrier Says, DO NOT MOCK A+!!!

I won't mock A+ here. However, in lieu of Richard Carrier's statement from the post Being with or against Atheism+

... if you mock or make fun of Atheism+ or belittle it with stupid dumb-ass shit like calling it Stalinism. That makes you an asshole. Point blank. Plain and simple.

I satirize/mock everything -- stuff I like, stuff I don't like. I suppose that makes me an asshole.

So be it.

Here is part of my response to Mr Carrier.

Oh, there will be more responses.

Why?

This is Purgatory.

Here are some more of my thoughts regarding Richard Carrier's demand not to mock A+

  1. Recently I have realized for sure that I am just that. I'm okay with that.

  2. I like much of what atheism plus stands for. However, Carrier's rhetoric is too much for me. Good job mocking it....it gives us assholes something to laugh at.

    1. You know what? I agree with you, there really is a lot to like with the idea of a muscular brand of atheism. The problem is, of course, is that Myers is running his group with all the skill of a first time Little League coach.

  3. Can I tell you how much I love that you used Don Draper for that? Hilarious!!!

    1. Thanks. I love memes because they explain so much in so little time.

  4. Shouldn't we try to "NOT BE LIKE THE CHRISTIANS?" With all the xian sects and denominations I'm starting to feel like we're copy cats.

  5. Does the A without the plus sign stand for asshole now?

    1. There is definitely a subgroup of A+ that should be named A+assholes. Just made that up, and I think I like it.

    2. It really is a pity. This rave could have been awsome. I see some of the gatekeepers offering olive branches now and attempting some kumbayaing. Who knows.

  6. Like A+ or not, a good parody, Andrew.

Some people need a sense of humor.

The last thing atheism of any sort needs is to get as uptight as the theists we argue with and mock.

  7. Was the first meme a deliberate reference to the sheep in George Orwell's "Animal Farm"? "Four legs good, two legs bad"?

    1. Yes, yes it is. I thought the Animal Farm reference summed up Mr Carrier's attitude nicely.
