They're In Up To Their Necks

I asked the talented writer of the blog Common Sense Plus (here is the link) Randall "Doc" Fleck to do a guest post and he graciously agreed. I will return the favor and do a guest post for him sometime in June. Enjoy the read!

They're in up to their necks - and they know it.

I'm not one who'd put much stock in the rapture being true, that certain god-followers will magically disappear in blocks of millions all headed for Heaven, but I'm quite prepared to see a remarkable decrease in the number of Christians, Baptists and other sects, too; yet, I expect this for quite different reasons than the promise of the rapture come true - they're all gunna quit sooner or later.

All The Stormtroopers Were Gay!?

I found this post over at ALPHAVILLE and had to post it.

I don't think I'm going to say anything about this. It speaks for itself.

Life Is Good(?)

I have good news and I have bad news.

The good news is that there is non-refutable evidence that the economy is getting better.

How do I know this?

Leaving Islam Bus Ads

Well, how about that?

It does get your attention, doesn't it?

These are the ads on NYC buses that have been getting some play on the news. I'll tell you what I think.

Atheist Rule For Debating

I've been an Atheist for a long time.

I've been married for 16 years.

Do you know what they have in common?

When you argue, you will never be told you are right. Never. Ever. Ever.

My New Super-Cool Religion!

What's the difference between personal psychosis and a religion? Numbers! Numbers of followers. The dude in the locked ward talking about his personal link to God via the microwave (must be on defrost, otherwise the message gets all garbly) would be a High Priest or Super Imam if he could only get enough people to agree with him. We would have a microwave based faith and no one would tell the guy that used to be in the locked ward he's nuts because that would be anti-religious.

Talking With Christians

You may be surprised to hear that I have religious friends. Yep, and some occasionally read this blog. I have a few on Facebook and this post is about a civil conversation and an exchange of ideas I had with a buddy who is a Christian.

My submission, Who Is God Angry At Now?  has been accepted to Carnival of the Godless #142. Check out the carnival all ye godless ones! There's some good reading to be had.

A Talk About Brain Function With A Five Year Old

I am not a scientist. I am not a complete moron either. This is part of the continuing story of how I'm trying to raise science literate children.

I was driving back to my house after karate practice with Will, age 8, and Ali (full name Alexexandrina) who is 5. Ali has started asking questions about neuroanatomy and physiology.

Texas Text Book Changes

The Ten BIG Changes In Text Books
Thanks To The Texas Board Of Education

  1. Screw the Copernican Sun centered Solar System! Earth is back to being center stage baby!
  2. Columbus didn't discover America, Jesus did.
  3. Jews were God's chosen people until Jesus made Americans perfect.
  4. God hates the U.N. - it's in one of the lesser known Bible verses.
  5. The Confederacy won the Civil War. They were gracious winners and kept the Union flag and National Anthem.
  6. Slaves had it good! They got a free all expense paid trip to America!
  7. Fox news has a hot line to Heaven. That's why they're always right.
  8. The KKK is the fourth branch of government.
  9. All High School students will need to answer this question, How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
  10. Evolution is just a theory, like the existence of the Loch Ness Monster is a theory. Intelligent Design has been intelligently designed by a Divine Intelligence and you can get to know Him in any Baptist Church on Sunday.

Drawing Mohammed Day Is Here!

Thank God Drawing Mohammed Day is here! Drawing these stick figures can be fun, but even I can overdose on sarcasm (many of you may find this surprising). I feel I was able do an effective protest while still not drawing Mohammed. Of course, I may be on some death list somewhere but my name must be near the bottom.

I hope you all enjoy this last cartoon!

Where Is Mohammed? - Part 6

Draw Mohammed Day and Gay Rights

I was on Godless Monster's site today and reading about his feelings about tomorrow's Draw Mohammed Day. He had a civil back and forth with a gentleman who is Muslim about the nature of free speech and Godless hit the nail on the head...
In the United States, you are not guaranteed (under our Constitution) to some "right" not to be offended.
Seems simple?

Our Calendar, Satan's Plaything!

I was sitting in front of my TV last night (it was off) with my tin foil hat on when it came to me, the reason why God allowed the Deepwater Horizon Oil Catastrophe to occur.

God hates our calendar.

Science Nerd

I was wrestling with my kids, Will and Ali (I tell people we named her that to prepare for the Universal Caliphate), and they do a fairly good job at kicking my ass. Sure, Will is only 8 and Ali is 5, but he is a solid 65lbs and Ali has these tiny fists of rage that she pummels me with. But I digress. We were wrestling when Will started trash talking. Seeing that he is only 8 (and a nice kid) his trash talk is fairly rated G. As he was about to land a kick he cried out, "Take that Science Nerd!".

Where Is Mohammed? - Part 2

Longevity - Purgatory Style!

I want to announce that the next link will be to Fox News. I scared a reader a few posts back with a link to the Hutaree (Christian militia) site and I vowed to give warning in the future. The future is now.

Drawing Mohammed Day

I was reading Blag Hag's post about not engaging in Draw Mohammed Day, on May 20th. Draw Mohammed Day is a protest against Jihadists who threatened the creators of South Park when they placed the Prophet in a bear suit during an episode.  Blag Hag wrote that she will not be drawing Mohammed on May 20th because she has already annoyed a lot of Muslims with her successful Boobquake campaign.

I understand. I refuse to draw Mohammed too! Instead, I am unveiling a cycle of art that I call, Where is Mohammed? Today is only the first of a series chronicling my quest (with NO pictures of Mohammed).

Jan Brewer vs Pope Benedict

Who looks more like the Emperor from Star Wars?

Mild mannered governor from Arizona, Jan Brewer?

Our Christ on Earth, Pope Benedict XVI?

Me and The Stupid Stick

I have a new service that I provide, The Stupid Stick, (checkout others under the, Services I Provide page) and I'm sure people will be beating down my door for it! For a small fee I will arrive and smack someone repeatedly with the Stupid Stick. The Stupid Stick comes in many forms...

Puppy Love and the 48 Hour Film Project - Boston

Well, there it is our team's entry to the 48 Hour Film Project in Boston. I just saw it again and it's grown on me. Our genre (randomly assigned) was Romance, the prop was a scale, the character was Wilma Weatherby, a gardener, and the line of dialogue was, "You win some, you lose some."

Here's what some of the cast/crew think of the film.

Is The Tea Party Racist?

I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day and I mentioned that Tea Party rallies look like an Aryan Nation Meetup. He said that the whole white domination of the Tea Party was propaganda. I decided to do some research and see for myself.

Who Is God Angry At Now?

Pat Robertson has been kind enough to point out who God is pissed off at during times of tribulation (Hurricane Katrina punished the U.S. because of all the abortions that have occurred and the earthquake in Haiti was punishment for a pact with Lucifer).

Gym Stories

I have a few sad stories from my recent experiences at the gym I'd like to share.

They call them plugs for a reason.
I was on one of those horrible ellipse machines (if you don't know what one is check out the link). The row of torture devices in front of me had sit on your ass stationary bikes. Using your mad skills of visualization, dear reader, you realize that I was significantly higher than than the poor schlemiel in front of me. The schlemiel was mostly balding, but had spent some of his hard earned cash on hair replacement. How do I know? It seems that when one sweats the hair implants show their true nature: clumps of hair dotting a desert of hair follicles. Ick.

Kick'n It Old Skool On The National Day of Prayer

It seems that South Carolina is about to pass a bill that will recognize a Day of Prayer within the confines of that lovely state. I am reminded of a quote about S.C. when the state was seceding from the Union (it was the first state to leave), "South Carolina is to small to be a Republic and to large to be an asylum."

Will's Rock Climbing Expedition

My boy, Will age 8, just had his birthday party the other day. As many readers of this blog know one of my goals as a father is to prevent him from getting a sense of entitlement that many American kids have. When my wife told Will (without me knowing) that he could have his party at an indoor rock climbing gym, I was not pleased. What's next? Will's refusal to wear non-designer clothing? A dislike for science and math?

Hutaree vs Hezbo-Hamas

This is a post that will not challenge you intellectually. This is a post of "D'uh!" or "D'oh!" (done in a Homer Simpsonesque kinda way) depending on your point of view.

48 Hour Film Project

I have been off the grid for a few days. The 48 Hour Film Project began last Friday and ran until Sunday (4/30 - 5/2). How crazy was the experience? I will show you my time table.

5:30 PM Show up for the kick-off event. Have 1 rum and coke. I need to stay loose but aware. Seeing that I had 2 pints in the previous bar I am quite loose.
